Living so close to Red Rock Canyon; I was truly blessed when a record snow fall coated the Las Vegas valley. Looking to highlight the contrasting white of the freshly fallen snow with the rich reds of the ancient canyon, I found a perfect composition in this shot. With daylight fading, I knew time was working against me to capture the silence and serenity of this storm as the snow outlined the tree against the canyon wall. It is almost hard to believe that such a special moment can occur within minutes of the noise and lights of the Las Vegas strip
