Patterns in nature always lure me. The perfection in this scene had to be captured in a special way. I hiked through the forest for hours lining up the tree trunks and their right sides where the moss grew. The white snow gave the image just the right contrast. Every foot I moved dramatically changed the perspective so I carefully set up my camera with the trees lined up perfectly and the light just right. It was worth the expedition, chugging along up to my waist in snow.
