A lazily swaying palm tree is the ultimate symbol of Hawaii and I really wanted an image that captured the peace and tranquillity of this tropical paradise. I arose very early to beat the first light, and arrived down at the beach as the island still slept. I watched and waited as a blush-colored streaky sky emerged from under the cover of darkness. As the pastel colored dawn shrugged off the night, the silhouetted palms appeared to form a guard of honor to welcome the new day.
