Seeking total perfection in nature is what I strive for. It’s time consuming, fun, adventurous and sometimes bloody frustrating. You can be so close to getting the shot and somehow it’s just not quite there. I’m a perfectionist -– it has to be right. Working with Mother Nature also takes a lot of patience – it’s a huge secret. This image was no exception! 

I had a restless sleep and hit the road at dawn. I was stoked that the wind had calmed down, as it could have killed the shot. I arrived at the exact location right at daybreak. As the golden early morning light filtered through the trees, it illuminated the wildflowers like magic. I shot like a mad man with a narrow ten minutes of stunning light. Soon after – the scene was in full sun and looked like a normal bright, sunny day. Good for a picnic! I hope you see, feel and smell the forest and enjoy this magical moment that Mother Nature shared with me.
